Yates Motor Company




My historical photo is of Yates Motor Company, who was the first auto supplier in 1916. The building is no longer there. One big thing that stands out is the the building is not there. Also the land has grown up surrounding and is more of a small parking lot. There is no longer Yates Motor Company because Roanoke had a drop off in population and stopped being a booming town. Roanoke back then was a busy place that was changing with the world. There was a constant crowd coming through giving all the stores business. Today, we have slown down to a steady crawl and many of the once popular stores have closed down.
