downtown roanoke old vs new

My historic picture is downtown roanoke in the 1900s and has a lot of cars parked next to very old buildings.Some similarities of both the pictures are the theater is still there and then road are some what the same.Some differences are the stores on the far left are gone leaving a big open space and lots of the stores don't have a hanging thing.I know that things have changed because almost all the stores are either gone or something different.From the picture it looked as if roanoke was the hype city like las vegas but a whole lot smaller.I think that roanoke will stay more or less the same as it was then.
